in Pakistani surroundings. The work suggests ideas of isolation, displacement
and undercurrent violence in the presence of the gang of young men, sharply
contrasted with the presence of the young girl gradually containing
herself
in a web like drawing to create a secure space for herself.

8:1 se réfère à la séquence d’ouverture
du film hollywoodien West Side Story tourné ici au Pakistan. Le
travail suggère l’idée d’isolement, de déplacement
et de violence profonde de par la présence de la bande de jeunes
hommes contrastant amplement avec la présence de la jeune fille
s’entourant d’un dessin pour créer un espace de sécurité autour
d’elle.
