Als Ausgangsmaterial für die Serie von Zeichnungen wurden historische Vorlagen in Form von europäischen ethnologischen und künstlerischen Studien benutzt, die orientalische Männer zeigen. Entekhabi setzte im zeichnerischen Prozess anstelle der Gesichtszüge der orientalischen Männer sein eigenes Gesicht ein und wirft damit die Frage der Fremdwahrnehmung seiner selbst als "Orientale" im europäischen Kontext auf.

As a starting point for his series of drawings Shahram Entekhabi selected European historical artistic and ethnological drafts showing oriental men. During the process of his own copying of the drawings, Entekhabi inserts his own features instead of the faces of the oriental men, thus addressing the concequences of being seen as "oriental" in European context
