Public performance / urban intervention
Video documentation
A spatial intervention that exposes the invisible structures governing movement, perception, and collective presence within a historically charged environment.
No Exit / Berlin is part of a series of urban interventions that examine how temporary performative actions can alter the perception and use of public space. Developed for the Zionskirche, a site marked by historical and political significance, the work introduces a transient spatial structure using red and white barrier tape. Rather than closing off space entirely, the intervention reorganizes existing architectural relations, creating a condition in which visibility, access, and movement become unstable and continuously renegotiated.
Situated within a space of collective memory, the work engages both the physical and symbolic dimensions of the site. The presence of the vocal ensemble VOX NOSTRA adds an acoustic layer that resonates with the architecture, connecting historical references of sacred music with the temporality of the intervention. Through the interaction of structure, sound, and the moving body, the work reveals how public space is shaped by layered systems of control, expectation, and shared perception.
