Public performance / urban intervention
Video documentation
No Exit / Rotterdam operates as a site-specific urban intervention developed for the public space of the city during the O. Festival. Rather than introducing a permanent structure, the work unfolds through a temporary occupation of architectural surfaces using red and white barrier tape. The intervention subtly alters the existing spatial order, creating a condition in which boundaries appear unstable and access becomes negotiable. Movement is not blocked, but redirected—producing a momentary shift in how space is perceived, navigated, and controlled.
Positioned within the everyday flow of the city, the work engages passersby without announcement, embedding itself into existing rhythms of urban life. The presence of the vocal ensemble VOX NOSTRA introduces an additional acoustic layer, connecting historical references of sacred music with the immediacy of the contemporary environment. Through the interaction of body, structure, and sound, the intervention reveals how public space is continuously shaped by invisible systems of regulation, perception, and collective behavior.
