Reflections on Life, Struggle, and Resilience
Breakfast with Dinosaurs explores the social and political realities of contemporary Iranian society through the everyday experiences of people living and working in Tehran.
Moving through the city with taxi drivers from different social and educational backgrounds, the video transforms the taxi into a space for personal narratives and reflections on economic hardship, social inequality, political uncertainty, and the pursuit of a better life.
The intimate conversations inside the vehicles unfold against the restless movement of the city, revealing the tension between private experiences and public realities.
Interwoven with these documentary encounters are performances by a mysterious masked female figure, whose gestures and movements introduce a poetic and unsettling dimension. Appearing in stark, seemingly desolate landscapes, she embodies a sense of vulnerability, alienation, and resistance.
By bringing together documentary observation and symbolic performance, Breakfast with Dinosaurs creates a dialogue between individual experiences and broader social conditions. Rather than offering a definitive portrait of Iranian society, the work explores how people navigate uncertainty, negotiate their circumstances, and preserve their dignity and resilience in everyday life.
