A staged encounter between fiction, memory, and political imagination.
BREAKFAST WITH DINOSAURS, 2018
Single channel video, 40:24 min.
Breakfast with Dinosaurs unfolds as a layered narrative between fiction and historical imagination. The work stages an encounter in which constructed scenes, performative gestures, and cinematic language intersect.
Rather than presenting a linear story, the film moves through fragments that evoke political memory and its representations. Characters appear as carriers of meaning rather than fixed identities, shifting between roles that blur the boundaries between document and fiction.
The title itself suggests a temporal dislocation — an impossible meeting that reflects on the persistence of past narratives within the present. The dinosaurs function not as literal figures, but as metaphors for historical weight, survival, and extinction.
Through its cinematic structure, the work reflects on how history is staged, remembered, and re-enacted. The image becomes a site where fiction and reality continuously overlap, creating a space in which meaning remains unstable and open.
