Miguel 2026 – Restaging Time
Twenty-one years after the original video, Shahram Entekhabi revisits Miguel through a precise restaging of the work. Every gesture, camera movement, edit, and action follows the structure of the 2005 version as accurately as possible. The work transforms repetition into a reflection on memory, continuity, and the passage of time.
While the video remains almost identical to its predecessor, one element has inevitably changed: the performer himself. The traces of aging become visible within a work that otherwise resists alteration. By restaging his own performance after more than two decades, Entekhabi turns time into the central subject of the piece, revealing how the body records experiences that no repetition can fully erase.
