FIGURES, IMAGE & POWER brings together works that engage with representation, identity, and the construction of meaning through images, objects, and symbolic forms.

Across different media — including drawing, installation, photography, and found material — these works investigate how bodies, figures, and visual systems are shaped by cultural codes, ideological frameworks, and mechanisms of power.

Rather than operating within fixed categories or mediums, the works are connected through their focus on transformation: images are overwritten, figures are fragmented, and symbols are displaced from their original contexts.

Spanning intimate gestures and large-scale installations, this body of work unfolds as an ongoing inquiry into how visibility is constructed — and how it can be disrupted, manipulated, or redefined.

This work constructs a malfunctioning image system.

Originally designed to communicate direct messages, the images are disrupted, overwritten, and rendered unstable.

Through the act of drawing over found material, the work exposes how visual systems are shaped by cultural codes, economic structures, and ideological frameworks.

The images no longer represent — they negotiate.

This body of work centres on a recurring figure developed over time through performance and video. The character operates as a mutable construct, shifting across contexts while retaining a consistent visual and behavioural language.

Rather than forming a fixed identity, the figure evolves through repetition and displacement, reflecting on processes of projection, memory, and the construction of self within changing social and political environments.

In this series Entekhabi transfers his sharp social observations into a world of symbols and Persian mythological references. Delicate blue figures intertwine with golden, ornamental forms — creating a poetic dialogue between body, power, and cultural memory. The works blend autobiography, surrealism, and subtle political undertones in a visual language that is both sensual and precise.
